London riots case study write up
This youtube video shows the stereotypical aspects of a youth in the London riots,
the features of this clip:
-jumper with a hood up
-young male
-inappropriate behavior
-Group of young rioters
These things portray the youths involved within the london Riots in an extremely negative way.
the voice over of the news reporter expresses the severity of the incident whilst the broadcast reads 'BREAKING NEWS'. In this case the youths have no voice or input to the news as they are being filmed from above of the behavior being carried out. The overall representation of the case is shown through violence of the youths with very little input from the other age groups shown through the news broadcasts, there is mainly a group of what looks around 17+ year olds shown to be involved in the main issues.
